Bridge Builder 2020

India being a developing country, always focuses on improving the connectivity between different parts of the nation. Bridge being one of the major elements of it, our country has built over 1.4 lakh bridges in the till now. A truss bridge is certain type of a bridge whose load-bearing superstructure is composed of a truss, a structure of connected elements, usually forming triangular units. The connected elements (typically straight or inclined) may be stressed from tension, compression, or sometimes both in response to dynamic loads. A truss bridge is economical to construct because it uses materials efficiently. In this project we have designed a modular through type Truss Bridge which is primarily a steel structure, for the problem statement provided by IIT Bombay.

On December 20th, 2020, they organised this National level Steel Bridge design challenge, The Bridge Builder, in Techfest 2020. Mr. Debarshi Sahoo, & his team from Deyan Infratech participated in the event securing the 2nd position. The judges (Sr. Professors from IIT Bombay & other industrialists) appreciated the design & entitled it as industry ready design for using the detailed analysis & use of IRC code & specifications for the design.
